Goa, Nov. 8 -- A 35-year-old farmer was killed in a tiger attack in Mysuru district on Friday, leading to an immediate suspension of safari and trekking activities in Karnataka's major tiger reserves.
The victim, identified as Chowdayya Nayak, was attacked near Hale Heggudilu village in Saragur taluk of Mysuru district, forest officials confirmed. The incident has sparked concern among local residents, as this marks the third tiger-related death in the region within a month.
Following the incident, Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre ordered a temporary suspension of all safari operations in Nagarahole and Bandipur Tiger Reserves, as well as trekking in areas vulnerable to human-wildlife conflict.
