Goa, Dec. 2 -- Margao Police have apprehended two men from Uttar Pradesh who were allegedly running a widespread scam by posing as AC technicians and cheating unsuspecting residents across Goa. The duo reportedly carried out "servicing" of air-conditioners but would deliberately drain the coolant gas, later demanding inflated charges to refill it.

According to police, the men collected a standard servicing fee of Rs.650 but earned most of their money by claiming the AC required a gas top-up, for which they charged nearly Rs.3,500. During questioning, both suspects admitted to having cheated more than a dozen people using the same modus operandi.
