Goa, Oct. 15 -- Raila Odinga, the former Prime Minister of Kenya, passed away at the age of 80 while receiving treatment at an Ayurvedic hospital in Koothattukulam, Kerala. The veteran leader suffered a cardiac arrest during his morning walk within the hospital premises and was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital, where medical efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at 9:52 am on Wednesday.

Odinga had arrived in India earlier in October for Ayurvedic treatment at the Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital and Research Centre, following a mild stroke he had suffered in Kenya.
