Goa, Dec. 4 -- An eroding electricity pole outside the Don Bosco educational complex in Panaji collapsed, pulling down with it several internet cables that were allegedly attached without permission. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Witnesses at the scene said an approaching vehicle became entangled in a loose cable hanging from the pole, causing the weakened structure to crash down. Department officials rushed to the spot, removed the hazardous cables and stated that all illegal lines would be cleared over the weekend.

The incident also revived earlier warnings from Kashinath Shetye, who had raised concerns over unauthorised cables after a father-son duo were seriously injured in Santa Cruz this month due to similar issues.
