Benaulim MLA Captain Venzy Viegas has urged the Water Resources Department (WRD) to take immediate action to protect and restore coastal creeks across the State by bringing them under the Irrigation Act.

The MLA emphasized the need for a comprehensive eco-restoration plan that would focus on preserving catchment areas and natural feeder streams. Viegas further called for measures to maintain historic tidal flushing patterns across seasons, remove shoals at creek mouths, and ensure proper oxygenation.
