Goa, Oct. 26 -- The Election Commission (EC) will announce the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in several states on Monday, officials said. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, will make the announcement at a 4.15 pm press conference.

Though the EC's media invite did not specify the agenda, sources confirmed the briefing will focus on the SIR schedule. The exercise is expected to begin on November 1 and likely cover the five states holding Assembly elections in 2026 - Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal - along with a few others.
