Goa, Dec. 11 -- The Election Commission of India (EC) is expected to extend the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) deadline for Uttar Pradesh and several other states, senior EC sources mentioned. A final decision is anticipated on Thursday, when top officials meet to assess the progress of digitising and submitting enumeration forms.

Sources indicated that West Bengal is also among the states likely to receive an extension. The Commission has already pushed Kerala's deadline from December 11 to December 18 following earlier delays.
