India, Jan. 30 -- If the re ply to LAQ 140 tabled dur ing the 12th session of the Goa Legislative Assembly is taken at face value, the Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) of the Goa Police has not se cured a single conviction from the 591 narcotics cases booked across the State be tween 2022 and December 31, 2025. However, Superinten dent of Police (ANC) Suni ta Sawant argues that it is not as though there were no convictions in the last two years; there were 35 cases convicted in 2025 and 46 in 2024 but sev eral convictions during these years may pertain to cases registered in earlier periods.

Assembly records show that since 2022, the ANC hooked a total of 117 cases: 35 in 2022-23, 28 in 2023-24, 34 in 2024-25, and 20 in 2025. The same LAQ states...
