Goa, June 26 -- To commemorate the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Goa Police launched a series of awareness initiatives aimed at educating the public about the widespread and devastating effects of drug addiction.

Speaking at one of the events, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Keshav Ram Chaurasia stressed that drug abuse is unlike other crimes due to its deeply corrosive impact on families and society. "Drug abuse doesn't just affect the user. It tears apart families, leaving behind emotional trauma, financial ruin, and social isolation," he said.
