Goa, Sept. 13 -- Sergio Gor, US President Donald Trump's nominee for Ambassador to India, suggested during his Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing that Trump could visit India later this year for the Quad Leaders Summit. India is slated to host the meeting, though the exact date has yet to be finalised. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had extended the invitation to Trump during his February visit to the US.
Gor highlighted the importance of the Quad partnership, which brings together India, the US, Japan, and Australia to ensure a peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific. "The President is fully committed to continual engagement with the Quad," Gor said, adding that discussions for Trump's potential trip are already underway.
