Goa, Jan. 2 -- Former India cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar has questioned the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors for repeatedly overlooking 28-year-old Sarfaraz Khan, despite the batter delivering consistently strong performances in the limited opportunities he has received.

Vengsarkar said he finds it "deeply puzzling" that Sarfaraz has not been given a sustained run in any format for the national side.

"You know, it genuinely surprises me why he hasn't been selected for India in any format, especially given how consistently he has performed whenever he has had the chance," he said.
