India, Feb. 23 -- Reacting to the ongoing protest against Section 39A, Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Digambar Kamat said that every MLA must maintain his or her own dignity and ensure that decorum is upheld during agitations.

Kamat stated that while protests are a democratic right, elected representatives should refrain from entering government offices and pressuring officials. "We were also protesting earlier, but we never went into offices to pressurise government officers," he remarked.

When asked about the incident involving MLA Viresh Borkar, Kamat declined to comment, saying he could not speak on what transpired in that particular case.
