Goa, Aug. 9 -- Delhi woke up to heavy downpours on Saturday, leading to widespread waterlogging and traffic disruptions across several parts of the city. Areas including Shastri Bhawan, RK Puram, Moti Bagh, and Kidwai Nagar experienced intense rainfall, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a red alert for the day.

The alert covers multiple zones-North, West, South, South East, and Central Delhi-warning of very heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms. Waterlogging was reported at key stretches such as Panchkuian Marg, Minto Road, Mathura Road, and near Bharat Mandapam's Gate No. 7.
