Goa, Aug. 26 -- The Delhi Police on Monday invoked criminal conspiracy charges against two men arrested in connection with the recent alleged attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

A senior police officer confirmed that the new charges were added after investigators gathered evidence suggesting the assault was not a standalone act but part of a larger conspiracy.

The accused, Rajeshbhai Khimji and Tahseen Syed, who are currently in custody, were earlier booked under assault and related provisions. With the fresh development, they now face charges under Section 61 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
