Goa, Dec. 20 -- The national capital woke up on Sunday to a thick blanket of smog, with air quality plunging to alarming levels across the city. According to official data, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 380, placing it in the 'very poor' category.
The dense smog significantly reduced visibility, disrupting daily life and impacting transportation services. Several flights and trains were delayed as a result of poor visibility conditions in and around the city.
Visuals from Bhairav Marg near Pragati Maidan early in the morning showed motorists driving with headlights switched on amid heavy haze. The AQI in the area was recorded at a severe 433 at around 7 am, highlighting the deteriorating air quality.
