Goa, Dec. 30 -- The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has approved Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for a series of major capital acquisition proposals worth approximately Rs.79,000 crore for the Indian Armed Forces.

The Ministry of Defence said the approvals were granted during the DAC meeting held on December 29, 2025, covering key capabilities for the Indian Army and Navy.

For the Army, AoN has been accorded for the procurement of Loiter Munition Systems for artillery regiments, Low Level Light Weight Radars, Long Range Guided Rocket Ammunition for the Pinaka Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), and the Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction System Mk-II.
