Goa, Jan. 3 -- Zomato founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal faced criticism on social media following his comments on the nationwide gig workers' strike held on December 31, with delivery partners and users accusing him of overlooking core issues related to pay, safety and working conditions. The criticism followed the second phase of the strike on New Year's Eve.
In a post on X, Goyal said Blinkit's 10-minute delivery promise was made possible by the density of stores located close to residential areas, and not by pressuring delivery partners to rush. However, several delivery workers told The Indian Express that the speed of delivery was not their primary concern.
