Goa, Oct. 29 -- The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Mumbai, has arrested Danish Merchant, alias Danish Chikna, a close associate of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, from Goa in connection with an NDPS case registered in Mumbai.

Sources said that Danish, who was wanted in a narcotics case, had been evading arrest for some time and was traced to Goa through technical surveillance and intelligence inputs. A special NCB team arrived in the state and apprehended him in a swift, coordinated operation.

Merchant, known to be linked to Dawood's drug trafficking network, is being taken to Mumbai for further interrogation. Officials said more details about his role and connections to other drug suppliers are likely to emerge during the investigation...
