India, Jan. 18 -- The Davorlim Dicarpale gram sabha has strongly opposed the government's proposed urbanisation plans, expressing concern over the inclusion of villages under municipal limits. During the meeting, residents raised objections to surveys being conducted in Davorlim, Aquem Baixo, and Navelim for potential inclusion under the PDA. Members said the move could impact the village's identity, land rights, and local governance. Earlier, the Navelim gram sabha had also passed a resolution rejecting the proposal, reflecting growing resistance across villages to urban expansion plans.
