Goa, Nov. 30 -- The MGP leader stated that the party has decided to field an Independent candidate in the Curti-Ponda constituency after raising concerns about why its ally did not nominate a joint candidate for the seat. He emphasized that Curti-Ponda has historically been an MGP-influenced region and expressed surprise at the BJP "taking over" a seat traditionally considered theirs. According to him, the MGP will not succumb to political pressure and is prepared to support an Independent who, he believes, can confidently win the election.
