Goa, Dec. 2 -- Locals of Cuncolim, together with members of the Cuncolim-based Sociedade Agricola Gauncares de Cuncolim e Veroda, have expressed serious doubts about a proposed road that would support a nearby fish meal plant. They claim the project will partly pass through land owned by the society, raising questions about how the plan was approved. According to residents, RTI replies indicate the road is set to come up on land acquired by the Cuncolim municipality, which they believe is being diverted to benefit a private party.
