Goa, Jan. 6 -- Cumbharjua MLA Rajesh Phaldesai has said that he was the first to formally complain to the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department regarding the controversial project in Carambolim, following which an official inspection was carried out.

Phaldesai stated that he had opposed the project from the beginning, saying it went against the wishes and interests of local residents.

The MLA reiterated that public sentiment must be respected in all development matters, especially when communities raise serious objections.
