Goa, June 18 -- A crusher operating at survey number 8/1 in Guddemol has gone underwater following the first spell of monsoon rains, reigniting local outrage over its location and legality. Residents claim the structure is built directly over a natural nallah, making it prone to flooding and posing environmental risks.

Despite two earlier reports by Herald Media, inspections by the local panchayat and the Town and Country Planning Department, and a stay order against further activity, the crusher continues to function. Locals say the owner has not only defied the orders but also proceeded with fencing work around the site - a move they allege blatantly disregards environmental regulations.
