Goa, May 28 -- Fresh concerns have emerged over the structural integrity of the Malpe-Pedne National Highway 66 bypass, as visible cracks and a weakened protective wall have raised fears of a possible collapse during the upcoming monsoon.

Local activist Rajan Korgaonkar, along with several concerned citizens, has voiced alarm over the deteriorating condition of the bypass. The area had previously seen damage, and residents worry that the current state of disrepair could lead to another collapse once heavy rains begin.

"This is a disaster waiting to happen. If urgent repairs are not carried out, the road could give way again, endangering commuters and disrupting connectivity," said Korgaonkar.
