Goa, Sept. 9 -- National Democratic Alliance (NDA) nominee CP Radhakrishnan has been elected as the 15th Vice-President of India, defeating the Opposition INDIA bloc candidate B. Sudershan Reddy by a comfortable margin. Radhakrishnan secured 452 votes, while Reddy received 300. Out of 781 Members of Parliament eligible to vote, 769 cast their ballots, while 12 abstained.

Radhakrishnan has been serving as the Governor of Maharashtra since July 2024, stepping into the national spotlight after Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar's resignation in July 2025.
