MARGAO, June 27 -- The continuous rainfall on Wednesday disrupted normal life for quite a few people as various places in Margao and surrounding areas were waterlogged.
Nuvem bore the brunt of the monsoons as the village was flooded at many places. However, major disaster was the collapse of the compound wall constructed for the ground at Carmel College. The wall just crumbled under the onslaught of rains, which was constructed by State Urban Development Authority.
In the morning, the National Highway road in front of Deputy Chief Minister Vijai Sardessai's house was flooded. The road leading to Presentation Convent High School was totally flooded but after the children were dropped to school.
