Goa, May 13 -- Opposition parties in Goa have voiced strong opposition to the Centre's suggestion of setting up a nuclear power plant in the state. The Congress party, leading the charge, stated that Goa must not become a "laboratory for BJP's dangerous experiments."
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Amit Patkar sharply criticised Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's proposal, accusing the BJP government of already damaging Goa's hills, forests, agriculture, and rivers. He warned that introducing a nuclear project would further endanger the state and vowed to resist it completely, declaring that Goa's land, livelihoods, and environment are "non-negotiable."
