Goa, June 9 -- The Congress party has strongly backed the ongoing protest by doctors in Goa, demanding the removal of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane over his controversial behavior at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The protest erupted after Rane, during a surprise visit on Saturday, publicly scolded Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rudresh Kuttikar and ordered his suspension-actions condemned by doctors and opposition leaders alike.

Doctors from GMCH, supported by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD), held a protest outside the hospital on Monday.
