Goa, Sept. 1 -- After a difficult week of staying ashore due to rough seas, fishermen in Colva finally experienced some relief with a good catch of sardines and mackerels on Sunday.
Local fisherman Juze Camillo said the past week had been especially hard for the fishing community, as unfavorable sea conditions prevented them from venturing out. "Today we finally managed to bring in a good catch, which has given us some relief," he shared.
However, Camillo highlighted that the shortage of labour remains a major challenge for local fishermen, affecting their daily operations despite the improved catch. The community continues to hope for more consistent fishing days ahead as the monsoon gradually eases.
