Goa, July 25 -- Traditional fishermen in Colva are gearing up to venture into the sea as the new fishing season gains momentum. With boats being readied and nets repaired, the community is closely monitoring weather conditions before setting sail.

Pedru Fernandes, a local raponkar (traditional fisherman), said, "The sea is rough these days, but most likely within two days we will venture out."

Fishermen remain optimistic about a good catch this season and are making final preparations while awaiting calmer seas. The onset of the season marks a vital time for the coastal economy and the livelihood of local fishing communities.
