Goa, Oct. 28 -- The South Goa Collector's Office is awaiting a detailed report from field officials as the probe into last week's fatal fire at a private shipbuilding unit in Rassai-Loutolim intensifies. The blaze has claimed five lives and sparked public anger over alleged safety lapses and administrative negligence.
Additional Collector-II Ramesh Gaonkar told O Heraldo that a comprehensive report has been sought from the Deputy Collector. "We have asked for a detailed account of the incident and the safety measures followed by the company. The report will guide the next course of administrative action," he said.
