Goa, Oct. 9 -- Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant voiced concern over the growing number of mental health cases in the state, revealing that one in every ten Goans currently needs treatment, a figure that continues to rise.
He noted that many families abandon their loved ones outside the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour (IPHB), after which they are taken care of by Provedoria centres. At present, around 400 people are receiving treatment across 10 to 12 such facilities, the Chief Minister said.
