Goa, Nov. 10 -- Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant clarified that there will be no increase in coal handling in the state. Addressing speculations, he said he is unaware if a recent meeting discussed coal or other matters, and emphasised that nothing has changed regarding coal operations in Goa. "Coal handling capacity will not increase even by one tonne. Whatever capacity Mormugao Port Trust had earlier will remain the same," he stated. CM Sawant added that neither the Government of India nor the Government of Goa has issued any notification suggesting an increase. He hinted that rumours may be linked to upcoming elections but offered no confirmation on the meeting's purpose.
