Goa, Nov. 7 -- Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant explained that the National Security Act (NSA) was enforced in the state for three months following a spike in crimes such as gunfire and robberies, where migrant involvement was found to be significant. Citing recent shootings in Margao and Pernem, Sawant urged landlords to ensure both police and tenant verifications before renting out rooms. He emphasised that the police have full authority to ensure public safety and that Goans need not be worried about the Act's implementation.
