Goa, Sept. 16 -- Chief MinisterPramod Sawanton Monday affirmedthat the Goagovernment isseriously committedto protectingthe Mhadei riverand is activelyconsidering thesuggestions putforth by theMhadei BachaoAbhiyan (MBA). During theirrecent meeting, the MBA delegationrequested permissionto visit thealleged diversionsites in Karnataka, where waterdiversion projectsare reportedlyunderway. Sawant clarifiedthat any suchvisit would requireprior approvalfrom the Mahadayi Water Disputes Tribunal, adding firmlythat the statewill not crossits legal boundaries.
