Goa, April 7 -- Goa Chief Minister recently chaired a review meeting to discuss the state of mining in the region. During the meeting, it was highlighted that the legal sand mining issue has been delayed due to pending Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearances. Additionally, the Environmental Clearances (ECs) for 28 laterite mining projects are still pending.
The Chief Minister issued directions to the Mines Department to follow up on these matters and ensure timely resolution. It was also noted that some issues regarding major mineral blocks had been resolved, allowing progress in the mining sector. The government is focusing on addressing the regulatory hurdles to ensure the smooth continuation of mining activities in the state.
