Goa, Oct. 7 -- Just a day after a lawyer tried to attack Chief Justice of India BR Gavai by throwing a shoe in the Supreme Court, the courtroom saw a lighter moment. During a hearing on district court judges' appointments, Justice K Vinod Chandran briefly muted proceedings to discuss a matter privately with the CJI.

CJI Gavai quipped, "These days. in social media we don't know what will be reported. your client will be very offended," adding levity to the session while hearing a plea by the All India Judges Association on service conditions.
