India, Feb. 11 -- A woman from Indira Nagar, Chimbel, has been cheated of 1.39 lakh in an online matrimonial fraud after being deceived by scammers posing as different individuals, police said.

According to Old Goa Police, the woman had connected with a man through a matrimonial platform, who subsequently informed her that he was sending a parcel containing valuable items. Shortly thereafter, she began receiving calls from other persons claiming to be a courier company representative and a Customs official, who demanded money towards delivery charges and clearance of the parcel.
