Goa, Dec. 24 -- As part of an ongoing cleanliness and urban welfare drive in Panjim, the Corporation of the City of Panjim (CCP) has relocated around 40 beggars to a government-run rehabilitation centre, Mayor Rohit Monserrate confirmed. He added that authorities believe more such individuals may still be living on city streets, and efforts to identify and assist them will continue.
In a parallel initiative, an NGO rescued four children from the streets of Panjim and placed them in government facilities, where they will receive shelter, care, and access to education.
