Goa, June 26 -- Raising a serious public health concern, Benaulim MLA Capt Venzy Viegas has called for immediate action against the unauthorised sale of unhygienic fish in Seraulim, warning of potential health risks and outbreaks if the issue is not promptly addressed.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Capt Viegas urged the South Goa District Collector to intervene without delay, citing reports that fish is being sold in unsanitary conditions, possibly without regulatory checks or adherence to food safety norms.

"The unauthorised sale of unhygienic fish in Seraulim is a serious threat to public health. I strongly urge the South Goa Collector to take immediate and decisive action to prevent a potential outbreak," said Capt Viegas.
