India, Feb. 5 -- Police have arrested a second accused in connection with an NDPS case registered at Canacona following the arrest of Walter Fernandes earlier this week.
The latest arrest is that of Sumit Bandekar, a resident of Agonda. According to police, investigations revealed that Sumit had allegedly purchased drugs from Walter Fernandes, who was taken into custody on Tuesday.
Based on the findings, police registered relevant sections under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against Bandekar and placed him under arrest.
Further investigation is underway to trace the source of the contraband and to identify other persons who may be linked to the drug network.
