Goa, June 10 -- The state of California has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration in an attempt to block the deployment of National Guard units and Marines to Los Angeles, arguing the move violates federal law and undermines state sovereignty.

The legal challenge comes after former President Donald Trump ordered approximately 700 Marines to be temporarily stationed in Los Angeles. The deployment follows his vow to crack down harder than ever on demonstrators protesting his immigration policies.
