Calangute Veterans downed USC Seraulim Veterans 5-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the first All-goa 8-a-side veterans football tournament organised by former footballers of Verna at Verna panchayat ground, on Monday. Calangute Veterans took the lead with the efforts of Robert Fernandes, followed by another two goals by Alwyn Fernandes and Seby Fernandes. At half time the score was 3-0 in favour of Calangute Veterans. Post resumption, USC Seraulim Veterans came back strongly and netted two quick goals through Frank Fernandes and Vinod Naik. However, Calangute Veterans pump in two more goals through Seby Vaz and star striker Bruno Coutinho.
