Goa, Jan. 20 -- Commuters faced major inconvenience on the Ponda-Borim highway on Monday as repair work on the Borim bridge led to a massive traffic jam, bringing movement to a near standstill for several hours.

The ongoing construction has narrowed the carriageway, resulting in long queues of vehicles stretching for kilometres and causing delays for office-goers, students and emergency services. Residents and regular commuters expressed frustration over the timing of the work, saying that daytime construction has severely disrupted daily travel.
