Goa, Jan. 22 -- Water Resources Department (WRD) Minister Subhash Shirodkar on Wednesday said that repair works on the Borim bridge will be undertaken during night hours and not in the daytime to prevent inconvenience to commuters and avoid traffic disruption.

The minister said the decision was taken considering the heavy vehicular movement on the bridge during the day, adding that night-time work would ensure smoother traffic flow and public safety.

Shirodkar also informed that the foundation work for the proposed new bridge at Borim will be taken up soon. He said the new structure is being planned to provide a long-term solution to traffic congestion and improve connectivity in the area.
