India, Feb. 17 -- A black panther sighting created excitement and concern in Sankhali after Ganesh Malik claimed he saw the animal near the Kudne sports ground on February 16 morning. Malik said barking dogs rushed toward a bush, drawing his attention to a long black tail moving nearby. The animal soon climbed onto a tree, remained there briefly, and then leapt down before fleeing into the forest. Malik recorded the incident on his phone. Environmentalist Rajendra Kerkar called on the Goa Forest Department to secure the habitat and initiate monitoring measures to ensure the safety of both residents and wildlife.
