PANJIM: Bishworjit Saikhom of the Indian Army and the miniOrange Sports Academy team won the Goa Triathlon clocking an impressive 2:08:53 hours for the 51.5km distance.
The Olympic distance, Goa Triathlon was making a comeback in this year's miniOrange AquaMoga 2025 event after a hiatus of seven years.
Bishworjit, winner of the 2024 Ironman 70.3 Goa race was a favourite from start to finish. He was out of the sea first and led the swim-bike-run segments from start to the finish. Bishworjit was followed closely by teammate Biten Laikhuram in a time of 2:10:10 hours and Nihal Baig of Pune, a former, Ironman 70.3 Goa champion in third position with a time of 2:21:42 hrs.
