Goa, Dec. 29 -- Ajay Gupta, co-owner of the Birch nightclub, has been remanded to five days of police custody by the Mapusa Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC). He was arrested by Mapusa Police in connection with an alleged fraud and forgery case involving fake health certificates reportedly used to secure trade licences.

During the court hearing, Gupta informed the magistrate that he would cooperate fully with the police investigation. The case remains under probe as authorities continue examining the alleged use of falsified documents.
