Goa, Nov. 6 -- A serious road accident took place at Gandhinagar, Dhadem, when a motorcycle collided with a truck, leaving the rider critically injured. The injured person has been identified as Abhijit Naik, a resident of Guddemol, Sanvordem.

According to eyewitnesses, the mishap occurred at a sharp turn known for frequent accidents. Locals pointed out that the dangerous curve has long been a cause of concern and had earlier claimed a life in a similar crash.

Residents have repeatedly urged authorities to widen and improve the turn to prevent further mishaps, but no concrete measures have been taken so far. The injured rider was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, while police are investigating the cause of the accident.
