MAPUSA, Oct. 9 -- Bidesh XI booked their place in the finals of the Candolim Panchayat Cup, organised by Candolim Sports Club, after edging out Dunes SC Mandrem, 5-4, via a penalty shootout at the Dr Gustavo Monteiro ground, on Wednesday. The match began at a slow pace, though Dunes dominated the early exchanges. Against the run of play, they took the lead when Macabees calmly placed the ball into the net to make it 1-0. After the change of ends, Bidesh XI struck back through Projot Arabekar, who netted from inside the 18-yard box to level scores at 1-1.
